The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina (CFWNC) works with families, businesses and nonprofits to strengthen communities through the creation of charitable funds and strategic grantmaking.
Grants are made to nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations and public agencies serving the following 18 counties: Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania and Yancey.
Through a careful review process, the Foundation's staff and board work together to award grants that strengthen the nonprofit sector. In simple terms, CFWNC grants are an investment in the future of our region.
CFWNC awarded more than $20 million in grants last year. A permanent charitable resource, the Foundation manages over 1,100 funds and has facilitated more than $254 million in philanthropy since its founding in 1978. Learn more at www.cfwnc.org.
